This would be an appropriate name for a tour in 2027 when they start their Vegas residency shows.

They could be like the Eagles and charge front row ticket holders 1500 for tickets which includes a sitdown meal down the front before the show starts. No meet and greets.

Promote the Vegas residency like an Eagles show but get an Elton John show instead.

 

I think they could only pull that off if they had an actual hook, like reuniting the AFD 5. 

 

The vast majority don't know the difference between Izzy and Richard Fortus, but if we are talking about a tour meant to extort the hardcores, they need something to differentiate it from the last 8 years.

 

My idea would be that they re-record UYI using the original band and production team from AFD. Scale it back to a 60 minute 6 piece album (AFD technically has 3 guitars). Call it 'Use Your Illusion 5', which is a fun play on words because the original albums were numbered, and this is UYI of the AFD 5 recorded it in a way like Appetite. 

 

They could reuse Axl's vocals. If you listen to AFD his vocals have no compression and are very raw, so unless they have the untouched performances, it might be difficult to get them to sound like AFD. Otherwise they could rerecord the performances. 

 

Then they do a small run of shows promoted as the final time the AFD 5 will play together. Do it in smaller venues with ridiculous ticket prices all im the Brazilian Peso so that they can profit from the exchange rate. 

 

Also, Axl can do Joe Rogan.

You forgetting they only have 4.5 Albums of actual material, and they play 3.5 hour shows.

 

The only way to do what could be considered a "New" show would be to dig up the songs they haven't played since reunion.

And then play only those in a 55 minute set. 

To do this it would have to include

"One In A Million",

(Mansons) "Look at Your Game Girl",

and of course

"Cornshucker" 🌽

GNR is way too cheap to rent The Sphere. Casinos provide the band with free space and guaranteed money regardless of attendance.

 

NewGNR didn't play a non-casino or non-festival date until Fall 2002 when their label ate the costs.

It's not surprising - market it like it's an AFD5 residency, 40 Years Of Destruction or whatever, something about 'all new mind blowing interactive AI technology'... the novelty of the sphere and the Vegas market means they'll sell enough $5000 super deluxe VIP tickets to make it work. They don't quite need to go back to casinos yet but the sphere seems likely.

I've heard you guys mention how he just aimlessly wanks on the CD stuff, I guess I just care so little for this shit show these days I've never really taken the time to watch/listen...well, I remember how they reworked Better but I guess that's it.
