That axl rose is long goneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 Quote
Gunnns Posted September 20 Posted September 20 CAN SOMEONE POST THE ISOLATED VOCALS FROM THIS SHIFEST? Quote

wasted Posted September 20 Posted September 20 When Stephanie hears this she's going to file a restraining order. I like Axl's vocal more the originals. Quote
gunsntortillas Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I haven't listened to this yet, but his vocals on most of the CD songs are extremely processed. So it's not really anything new. Whether it was because he was self conscious, or felt it was better creatively, they were very processed. It is ironic considering how raw the vocals are on AFD. There isn't even any compression in the original master. Quote
DaddyDont Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I have a feeling we're going to find out years from now that Melissa held this shitshow of a reunion together. Slash and Pitman would not have got along. Quote
VoidLykos Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 Pitman get Slash on the juice again. Imagine if we got drunk Slash shredding like the 90s instead of fat money hungry Slash noddling shitty improv solos. 3 Quote
GeraldineBailey Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Axl is clearly saving his voice for new GNR album. Tbh, I don’t even want to say how terrible it is because it’s just sad. His voice is dead, let’s call it a day 1 1 2 Quote

gunsntortillas Posted September 21 Posted September 21 It's cool that they had band members other than the bankers contribute creatively to something. It makes it easier for me to pretend that this isn't just a NuGNR cover band. 1 Quote

This is what any remaining Chinese material is going to sound like. Surely there must be AI tech now that can process his vocal from the 06 Bach, Angel Down sessions. There is already consumer-level AI that can do that. There are two reasons why those Youtube AI covers do not work. One, the original performance doesn't have the characteristics of Axl. The way he sings and enunciates words. His pacing, phrasing, etc. Two, they don't have enough isolated vocal material to train the AI. Hypothetically, Axl wouldn't have those limitations because he could sing the song himself and it would sound like him. He also has access to all his vocal takes throughout the years, that someone could use to train the AI. Also, because all the vocals he has released in the Chinese era, and more so in the "regrouping" have been heavily processed, the leap to AI processed vocals is likely not that noticeable. Of course, we're referring to crappy bedroom software that obsessive Youtube AI remixers use. With how many ageing rockstars there are out there (Axl Rose, Bon Jovi, Richard Cheese), it wouldn't surprise me to see someone invent the next generation of "auto tune". Where Axl can sing live or in studio, and it's a unique vocal, but the AI makes it not shit. Maybe Peter Jackson will get down to the brass tacks and manufacture an Axl-bot 9000 vocal machine. I don't like how processed the vocals are, but if you want to take away a positive, it sounds like Axl Rose enough that if you showed it to someone, they know it's him. So while heavily processed, he can still go into the studio and lay down vocals that sound recognizable. The general public doesn't want Axl singing songs that he can do in his natural voice that he still has, and I doubt he is interested in that. So this is what we get. It is what it is. 2 Quote
MAGATRON Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I finally gave this song a listen. His voice is so degraded now. He should either use AI vocals for a new album, hang it up, or do a bluegrass thing like Robert Plant or David Lee Roth. If it was up to me I would pick making a documentary about Axl using AI to make a new GNR album. 2 Quote
Trumpy Bear Posted September 21 Posted September 21 It's so sad Axl wasted the last years of his prime fighting over bullshit. We should have had at least another two or three albums before his voice steeply declined between 93 and 2000. 1 Quote

LiarzisDead Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I've listened to the song about 20 times now. I really like the guitar. Schenker is pretty awesome. I also dig the song. I like the way Axl sounds. I no longer care if it's auto tuned or processed or whatever. It sounds like Axl and the song is good Come at me brah 2 Quote

All Things Considered Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Is this different than what anyone expected? At least the most recently Axl recorded vocals are no longer Rock the Rock. I wonder if Schenker has die hard fans like GNR? I don't think so. If he does I wonder if they are pissed he keeps releasing the same songs from 45 years ago that they have all heard a million times. wasted Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Love to Love is kind of like the sequel to This I Love, I see it being on the fourth record. 3 Quote
All Things Considered Posted September 24 Posted September 24 I'm a Schenker fan so I listened to the album a couple times. Same old songs. Axl and Slash are by far the biggest guests on the album. Guitar playing is stellar as it has been for Schenker, but all these songs are over 40 years old. What's next a blues cover album? Who does that? 1 Quote

Johnny Ramone Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Just listened to this… Some of the vocals sound straight and some sound like they’re fucked with but his voice sounds weak either way. 1 Quote
All Things Considered Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Here is Schenker talking about it. Schenker has probably played this song with 50 singers or mnore in his life. Now he's got Axl Rose on his album... it's going to get more coverage so this is great for him. But, in the ever fleeting wind of the internet it will be dust n' bones. Quote

Schenker getting Axl, the The GNR recluse on his album. Nowdays when people think of Axl they think of Billy Joel appearances. A cameo of Axl and Schenker doing Fat-town (Uptown) Girl. Imagine the vocal processing on this song!. 1 Quote
