they have one great album, their first

I'm 30 years in denial that the UYI's really aren't "that" great. there's a handfull of songs on par with AFD, but the majority is Axl epics, and a bunch of covers.

With UYI, they had half an album's worth of great material (right next door to hell, you could be mine, perfect crime, dust n bones and 14 years ) but somewhere along the lines Izzy left and Axl could force his vision on the band

fast forward to CD, and the half album's worth of appetite level songs are gone, and it's made up entirely of Axl epics, drama and self-pitying.

These new singles are leftover tracks to that project, with bass and guitar from pooff and gravy biceps; in effect being a dishonest, pointless hybrid of Axl's grand vision with a misguided attempt to add more appetite power.

When I appreciate all of the above, I long for more simplicity and honesty (in whatever form that may be). I'm too old for this shit. Life is too short to wait years and years for mythical songs that turn out to be shit.

From now on, Motley Crue is my new favortie band. I can even forgive the amount of fat and fake bass in that band. It's a band, in the woke era, still standing behind their image and having strip dancers on stage. Mad respect for them.

After listening to the high quality versions, it's embarrassing that Axl didn't re-record his vocals on "Monsters" and "The General" before they got released

You can't understand what the fuck he's saying on 80% of the lyrics because the filter is trying to hide his 2002 Mickey Mouse voice

Haven't heard the 'new' versions but the only part of Monsters that's hard to hear are the deep vocals, "Monsters can't get me, kill me, whatever" the rest is pretty clear. Even with the distortion on The General it's just the last part of the chorus that's hard to understand.

The effects were definitely meant to mask the weak 02 vocals though, vocally it's like OMG turned up to 11.

Going entirely phonetically it sounds most like "the monsters impale me" to my ears.

It's essentially the same...

The only difference is Muff's bass is louder and more upfront...

It's the same fucking file

You're all getting trolled

The radio station played the leaked tracks

The final version is definitely going to have clear vocals and an epic 5 minute Slash solo

Welcome to my world.

In my youth I considered them on par with Dark Side of the Moon.

They were in near constant rotation for a couple years, started fading fast, and by the late 90s, I no longer listened to it at all.

By the time the box set came out, hadn't listened to them in at least 10 years, maybe longer.

Watching the Ritz video did breathe new life into the songs briefly.

Just like with Chinese Democracy...the wait, the hype, and the anticipation for UYI was better than the album (s) itself.

It's similar with AFD. From my list of all time favorite albums, it's the only one I never listen to.

I've also come to the realization that Axl wasn't nearly as talented as I thought he was in my youth.

The amount of time, the small amount of material, the excuses, the incompetence, etc speaks for itself.

He could've easily improved his lackluster material making up the "second half of Chinese" by simply hiring an actual professional to mix the goddamn thing but he couldn't be bothered to put in the effort. He preferred a yes man who will muddy up already ruined mixes over something of high quality.

He lost the plot long ago.

And he supposedly wanted to do film scores in the middle of that crap...

Someone let me know when the FLAC is online

What the hell for? :Classic_Troll:

Even if they released it in FLAC, WAV, ALAC, or WMA, it would still sound like it had been recorded through my grandma's Mayberry phone from 1981.

I wonder if Sheila Kennedy was sitting at home at 60 wondering why she never made it and someone sent her The General and Monsters and she thought this pervert raped me.

Or she finally listened to Absurd and realized she's the pussy full of maggots...a moment of clarity when realizing why he sodomized her.

Maybe it was just this special window where she can finally do it. She wants a jury trial but she'll probably get 10 mil instead.

GNR could have at least held to their brutally strenuous regime of ONE STUDIO ALBUM EVERY 15 FUCKING YEARS.

November 23, 1993 - "The Spaghetti Incident?"

November 23, 2008 - Chinese Democracy

November 23, 2023 - waiting for delayed release of a FUCKING 7 INCH CONTAINING TWO OF THE WORST GNR SONGS OF ALL FUCKING TIME
