I listened to The General again today and man it was over hyped... Of course it was always gonna be, but this is an album track that would fit alongside songs like Absurd and OMG. It's not outright shit, and it's literally a song written by a redheaded step child, but I'm not gonna be driving around with this song blasting...

I liked the song upon the first listen, but it’s barely any less repetitive than Aturd. I loved the double-layered vocal parts the most. But damn, it didn’t live up to the hype. 
 

 

and yes, I listened to it several times while driving my BMW wagon, both of these things are a bit overhyped so it fits

One of my favourite things to laugh at on the forums is the fans attempts to frame Axl's work with some sort of wide ranging, almost pseudo-mystical profundity. 

 

Instead of just acknowledging that the CD era was just an aimless wankfest. 

 

Like I pointed out before, GNR fans and Star Wars fans are so alike. 

 

Star Wars fans love to explain away the nonsense decision making, poor editing, choreography and storytelling with expanded mythology and extra content that attempts to make it all look deliberate and part of a wider universe. 

 

Instead of pointing it out as the obvious bullshit that it is. 

 

Like this gem from Return of the Jedi.
